Woo, I’m excited about HeroesCon coming up in June! I’m redoing most of my first Donna Troy costume I originally made in 2007 for the occasion. I’m redoing the top of the suit to the version in the art on the right. I ordered new boots, the old ones are boot covers I made. I also ordered new star earrings and an eagle pendant. I’ve got a bunch of rhinestones on their way that I’m going to add to the suit. I got a new wig several months ago. And I’m planning on making a new better belt buckle and bracers.
Aquaman & Mera (w/Allen) - status: just have swatches so far.
Spider-Woman - status: have wig and fabric, need to get sewing!
Time Turner - status: have scarf, need to design outfit next.
Donna Troy - status: altering and redoing bits of my old costume!
Operetta - status: have wig materials and maybe pants, need so much more!
I’m feeling good about my craftsmanship skills to get all this done. Although sometimes I get really overwhelmed thinking about Operetta since she needs so much! Just all the makeup supplies I’ll need is a lot of stuff and that’s not even getting into other things like custom printed fabric. But anyone who knows me knows how much I love Monster High, so I really want to do what I can to cosplay her this year.
Yesterday I was part of the Children’s Christmas Parade as Wonder Girl along with other friends from Heroes Alliance. I had a great time! One of the highlights of the day for me was meeting Barack Ollama! There was a group of llamas and their handlers dressed in Christmas gear who were also part of the parade.
I hope I can put together another costume of Donna’s soon. I’d like to make her Super Best Friends Forever style Wonder Girl costume and one day I’d like to make her Wonder Woman armor.
